Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks over a potential player swap deal involving Elliot Anderson, Anthony Elanga, and Yankuba Minteh, as reported by the Daily Telegraph.

Newcastle United faces the prospect of breaching the Premier League’s financial regulations unless they secure additional funds by Sunday evening, marking the deadline for this financial year.

In response, the club is actively exploring various avenues to generate revenue, including negotiations with Nottingham Forest, which focus on a potential deal for Elanga.

While Newcastle has proposed a swap deal involving Elliot Anderson, the midfielder is hesitant to make the move to Nottingham Forest. To address this, Newcastle has also brought up Yankuba Minteh in the discussions.

Minteh, a promising winger who impressed during his loan spell at Feyenoord last season, could serve as a like-for-like replacement for Elanga at Nottingham Forest.

Initially, Newcastle considered selling Minteh to French club Lyon, but the winger is not keen on that transfer. Instead, Minteh views Nottingham Forest and the Premier League as a more appealing destination, where he aims to establish himself and showcase his talent.

Anthony Elanga had a standout season with Nottingham Forest, making the potential departure surprising for some fans.

However, with the club’s financial position improved following the sales of Orel Mangala and Moussa Nikahate, Nottingham Forest might be more open to negotiating Elanga’s transfer.

As the transfer window progresses, the proposed player swap involving Elliot Anderson, Anthony Elanga, and Yankuba Minteh highlights the strategic maneuvers of both Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle’s urgent need to comply with financial regulations and Nottingham Forest’s recent player sales create a dynamic backdrop for these negotiations, promising an interesting development for both clubs and their supporters.
