Newcastle United have been given a clear message in their pursuit of Allan Elias, with Palmeiras making it known that anything below a very significant fee will not even open the door to negotiations.

The Brazilian club have just rejected a strong offer for the midfielder, underlining how highly they value him and how difficult any potential deal is likely to be.

Allan, who has been on Newcastle’s radar for several months, recently attracted a formal bid from Napoli. The Italian club tabled an offer worth €35 million, with a further €5 million included in performance-related bonuses.

Despite the size of the proposal, Palmeiras wasted no time in turning it down. According to reports in Brazil, the response was immediate and decisive, leaving no doubt about the club’s stance.

This rejection is not a surprise to those closely following the situation. Palmeiras have been consistent from the start, making it clear that they are in no rush to sell one of their most prized assets. Internally, Allan is viewed as a cornerstone of the squad and a key figure in the club’s plans moving forward.

At just 21 years old, he is seen as a player who can shape their success over the next few seasons, particularly with major sporting objectives set for 2026.

Palmeiras’ approach has been firm and unwavering. Earlier in the saga, they turned down another significant offer from Zenit, believed to be around €20 million plus €5 million in bonuses. That bid, like Napoli’s, failed to meet their expectations.

Club sources have repeatedly stated that only an offer exceeding €40 million would be enough to spark serious discussions. Anything below that level is simply not considered worth entertaining.

This hardline position has clear implications for Newcastle United. The Magpies have shown strong interest in Allan and have been monitoring his progress closely.

At one stage, there were suggestions that an agreement could be reached quickly if Newcastle decided to move. However, unlike Napoli, they have yet to submit an official offer.

Newcastle were widely expected to turn their interest into concrete action, but so far, that step has not been taken. While Napoli tested Palmeiras’ resolve and failed, Newcastle have remained on the sidelines, watching developments unfold. This could be a strategic decision, or it could reflect concerns over the price being demanded.

The situation now appears finely balanced. Palmeiras remain determined to keep hold of Allan unless a truly exceptional offer arrives. Napoli have already been rebuffed, and Newcastle are still weighing their options.

If the Premier League club are serious about bringing the midfielder to St James’ Park, they will likely need to match or exceed the €40 million mark Palmeiras are demanding.

For now, the message is simple. Allan is not for sale at a discount, and Palmeiras are prepared to hold their ground. Newcastle United, like any other interested club, will have to decide whether they are willing to meet that valuation or walk away and explore alternative targets.
